Welcome! The Oak Park Church of Religious Science is one of Chicago area's most established New Thought
centers. We teach "change your thinking, change your experience." To change our deeply rooted thinking patterns
is, as you may already know, not easy. It takes discipline and a great deal of self love. It makes sense, therefore,
to surround yourself with loving support that can inspire and encourage you to maintain the thinking that will lead you to

Religious Science is a philosophy grounded in the practical
relationship between our thoughts and our experiences. Dr. Holmes, the founder, wrote, "if we say we can only experience
a little good, then we shall experience but a little good. But if we say, with Emerson, 'There is no great and no small
to the Soul that maketh all,' then we may experience a greater good because we have conceived it. Our belief sets the
limit to our demonstration of a Principle which, of Itself, is without limit. It is ready to fill everything, because It is
infinite. It is not a question of Its willingness, nor of Its ability; it is entirely a question of our own receptivity."
It is our divine birthright to enjoy living, to be well, happy, and free to do
what we want to do when we want to do it. We are in charge of our experience. But we must make this great discovery for ourselves.

Laughter
What is laughter? What is laughter?
It is God waking up! O it is God waking
up!
It is the sun poking its sweet head out
from behind a cloud
You have been carrying too long,
Veiling
your eyes and heart.
It is Light breaking ground for a great Structure
That is your Real body--called Truth
It is happiness applauding itself and then taking flight
To embrace everyone and everything in this world.
Laughter is the polestar
Held in the sky by our Beloved,
Who eternally says,
"Yes, dear
ones, come this way,
Come this way toward Me and Love!
Come with your tender mouths moving
And your beautiful
tongues conducting songs
And with your movements--your magic movements
Of hands and feet and glands and cells--Dancing!
Know that to God's Eye,
All movement is a wondrous Language,
And Music--such exquisite, wild Music!"
O what is laughter, Hafiz?
What is this precious love and laughter
Budding in our hearts?
It
is the glorious sound of a soul waking up!
